another bus stop bites the dust

The bus stop at ang mo kio ave 6 outside courts has been permanently damaged by an accident involving unknown vehicle(s) hitting into the bus stop. Even the pillars of the covered linkway behind were deformed, and it looks like it may collapse anytime. Red tiles which had been knocked off the roof has already been cleared away yesterday, and the area has since been cordoned off.

The protective barriers at road divider has been knocked down too, and a vehicle bumper still remains on scene after the accident that most took place on Friday morning.

It is not known if there were casualties in this accident.

candy empire at vivocity under fire!

The Candy Empire store at Vivocity, barely a month into operations, has been hit by 2 Straits Times readers, Miss Catryna Zhang and Mdm Molly Zhao who wrote in to complain about the store's policy of prohibiting access to handicapped persons in their wheelchairs.

And to add on to the insulting episode, the indian manager pointed to the "no wheelchair" sign and "gesticulated vulgarly at the sign".

This incident was widely discussed on local forums and many have decided to boycott the store. But the store took down the sign before anyone of us could take a picture of it.

What a shame.

morton's of chicago

had a late but sumptuous dinner at morton's at level 4, the oriental with swatchie and liquidshadow.

the porterhouse steak is supper, though the ribeye part of the double cut filet was not very well done.

and we ended it with a very sinful chocolate velvet cake and a rather sour hot upside-down apple pie.

the pics again, as usual. =D

sneak peek at fort canning tunnel

opening in december or january, this tunnel is a shortcut between the old national library at stamford rd and park mall at dhoby ghaut, allowing you to bypass the traffic lights at bencoolen st and handy road.

as you can see, they have not laid the tarmac yet.

cozy canopy moving out sale

cozy canopy at stamford house, which offers free rooms for you to play chill out, play simple board games and watch your DVDs at a cheap rate for 3 hours at a go, is closing down.

maybe you can find a good deal there, like a AC-powered handheld fan cooler going for $35 and cash registers going for $350.

we're back at mind cafe

so we decided to spend 4 hours there playing games. happy hour runs on weekdays from 2pm to 6pm and offers you free gaming throughout the period and free-flow of soft drinks like coke and sprite.

as the boat quay outlet is usually deserted on weekday afternoons, they advise you to head to their main outlet at 60A prinsep street where there are school crowds during this period as they may close early.

settlers of catan!

hanabi lunch buffet

the waiteress requested that we not take pics of the food there, so we have to give you an empty-handed field report. but then, the food was actually only above average. maybe we were picky, or the waiteress had to spoil our day.

singapore idol judge florence was there too with her friends. the bill came out to $33.50 per pax inclusive of non-covered beverage for each of us.

so we salvaged all we can for a quick shot of the salmon sashimi for today.
