Tokyo Day 6 & 7

*** Pictures will eventually be filed under individual categories, but for now, I will keep a chronological order for readers following the series. =)

Above Shinjuku Station.

Toei Odeo Line.

Note the narrow platform allowance behind escalator portals.

This is no ordinary drinks dispenser. Drinks are available at 120 yen, the standard rate you get elsewhere, but you can get 10 yen by recycling the paper cup into the black machine on the left.

Street scene near Suidobashi.

Sakura is disappearing fast.

24-hour manga and internet cafe.

La Fonera wireless adaptors going at less than 2,000 yen!

Takopachi. The flavours here are mainly octopus balls, but you also get sour plum balls (with the seeds inside), which didn't go down well with me.

Takopachi Don at 500 yen with 4 balls and yolk-coated rice.

Akihabara Washington Hotel.

Interactive street directory at Shibuya!

Mochi Ice Cream!

Want to visit Singapore?

Burberry's at Ginza.

Manneken Belgian Waffles at Ginza.

Plain, Maple and Strawberry milk.

Hino buses from Toei Bus with folding rear doors.

Preview of platforms 11 and 12 for JR Chuo Line (Rapid service), previously under renovation.

Time to go back.

Tokyo Dome City

Sky Flower ride on the right.

Tsukiji Wet Market

The place to go for fresh sushi and sashimi!

Note the lunch crowds!

This queue is for the most popular restaurant in this market.

But since I have no time, I'll settle for this.

Meiji Shrine

On a rainy day.....

Barrels of donated sake.

Prayers left by visitors.

Chiba (and Chiba Urban Monorail)

JR Chiba Station.

Chiba Urban Monorail entrance.

It is the world's longest suspended monorail system. Yes, it is a suspended monorail! That means it has columns even higher than the trains, and it is an impressive sight! At certain points, it could be as high as 20metres off the ground.
