Candy Empire at VivoCity now says, "Disabled friendly, all are welcome."

A story about the saga involving the Candy Empire at VivoCity went on the Sunday Times today in an exclusive report, where the management were still refusing to back down ("the shop's policy of banning wheelchairs remains in place"), drawing flak from the National Council of Social Service, Handicapped Welfare Association, the Society of the Physically Disabled and also MP for Jalan Besar GRC Miss Lily Neo.

With bad press hitting out hard at the store, the management has finally decided to back down with a sign that welcomes everyone included physically challenged persons, in an effort seen by many as being too late and without conviction.

But nevertheless, it is hope that this will help gain awareness and understanding about the needs of this special group of the population.
